Evaluation process

How we review your application

Every application is read in full by our trustees. Here is what happens from the day you submit to the day you hear from us.

  1. Any time

You create your account and start your application

Add your personal details and start filling in the form. Your answers save as you go.

  2. 1st to 14th of the month

    You submit your application

The round is open for the first 14 days of each month. Once you submit, you get a reference number and can no longer change your answers.

  3. After the round closes

We check your application is complete

We make sure all the questions are answered and the documents are readable. If something is missing we may contact you.

  4. Second half of the month

    Trustees review and comment

Each trustee reads the applications in a secure area of this website and records their comments on need, urgency and value.

  5. Monthly trustee meeting

    Trustees decide together

The trustees meet online to go through every application and their comments. They look at the funds available that month and agree who to fund and how much to award. The meeting is recorded as part of our records.

  6. By the end of the month

    We tell you our decision

We email you with the outcome. If you are awarded funding, we explain what happens next and how the money will be paid.

  7. Afterwards

    We ask how it helped

A few months later we may ask you how the funding has made a difference. Your story helps us raise more and help more people.

Who sees your application

Only our trustees can see your application and documents. Trustees sign in to a separate, protected area of the website. We never share your information with anyone else without your permission, unless the law requires it.

If you are not successful

Unfortunately we can't fund everyone who applies. If your application isn't successful this time, you can apply again in a later round. You may also find help from other organisations.
